How to Make Your Baby Smarter
Nothing is more adorable than seeing your cute little baby respond in every action we do. A simple smile or coo means a lot to us especially when they are about a month old or two. And we want to see more of the progress as they grow up. Researchers believe that the child’s first years are their prime time for learning.
Of course, as a parent, we always wanted nothing but the very best for our child, so here are some simple ways to help in improving your baby’s intelligence.
Always Establish an Eye Contact
At your baby’s early months, take advantage of the moments when they are starting to open their eyes. Looking right into them will help the baby to recognize your face – and your face is the most important one to be seen first, because every time your baby stares at you, he’s beginning to build his memory of you.
Breastfeed, If Possible.
Breastfeeding is proved to be the most essential and substantial milk for a growing baby, because a mother’s milk contains all the nutrients and mineral the baby needs to grow. Spend time and all the possible moments if you can breastfeed your baby, breastfeeding does not only build relationship of the mother and the child, it also builds a much intact relationship.
Refrain them from using gadgets.
Your baby needs a one-on-one interaction, so making him watch from your tablet or smart phones will not help him no matter how education it is. Getting him used to these gadgets will decrease the socialization skills of the child. Much better if you’ll talk to them or read them stories, explore different things and ways for him to learn.
Play with Him. Be His Playground.
Playing with your baby boosts his problem-solving skills and enhances his coordination. Just by simply lying down on the floor and make him crawl to you will do, much cheaper than buying toys and blocks for him to build on and it is more fun! A great way to strengthen your relationship with him.
Take Him Outside.
It is important to take them out, expose him outside where he can see different colors, shapes, and different moving objects around him. Exposing him on other sceneries except your room and your house will help him to enhance his visual memory and thinking, it’ll also entertain him. By just simply riding him on his walker or carrier will make it effective. Talking to them and telling them what he is seeing will help his vocabulary-building skills be more effective.
Teach Them ABC and 123 in a Creative Way.
We teach them the ABC and 123 by just singing it to them, but did you know that when we teach them these things in a creative way it will be more effective for them to understand and remember the letter’s and number’s sound and figure. Simply make colorful cut-outs of the numbers and letter and put it on the wall where he can see it or where you can go to play. Hand him objects and count it together with him, count the steps he is taking or his fingers and toes. Do it with him and surely he’ll join you and it’ll be fun.
Read Them Stories
Choose a light, short story and tell him it in a creative and in an effective manner. You can change the main character’s name into his name to make him more interested in listening to your story telling. Keep reading him stories again and again every night before going to sleep or anytime. Scientists have found that babies as young as 8 months can learn and recognize sequence of sentence when it’s read 2 or 3 times a row — this is believed to help them to learn language.
Make Them Laugh.
Tickle him, since jokes and punch lines won’t work. Tickle him all over his body by playing games like “I’m gonna get you”, or “This Little Piggy” (then finish by tickling him on his sides). Laughter has been proved to be the first step in developing sense of humor by the researchers. These games will help to identify and learn to anticipate events.
Feed Them Nutritious Foods.
Feed him fruits and vegetables while they are young. Fruits and veggies are important in your child’s diet, after a year or two you will notice that your child will get fussy on what he’ll eat as he become more independent. While he is young, you can feed him fruits by pureeing it. Try doing an Apple Puree, most babies enjoy this puree which is rich in Vitamin C and fiber. Banana Puree, a potassium rich fruit that can combat diarrhea, its sweet taste makes it one of the baby’s favorite. This beta-carotene and potassium filled Peach is great too, it can be served alone or be mixed on yogurts. Feeding them nutritious foods will boost their energy and capability to think more to their limits. Looking for another fruits that you can give your child?
