Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by believing that something might be dangerous or cause pain and even a threat. No one can escape from having different kinds of fear. However, there are ways to overcome fear.
Know What You Fear
There are two types of fear. Deluded and non-deluded. If you already know the kind of fear you have, it would be easy for you to do something about it. Either you decide to conquer it now or just let it scare you forever, your choice can make a big difference.
Think of Fear as a Challenge
Non-deluded or unhealthy fear such as the fear of failure is only normal. Whether it is a failure of an examination or a rejection from a love confession, failing at something can be challenging. This may help the person to strive in becoming better next time. Accept your fear as a challenge and take risks in order to grow and learn more.
Be Active & Think Positive
We don’t have any control over people or certain events, but we do have the choice what to think about. Being optimistic at times when everything seems like it’s falling apart, can help you overcome your fears. For instance, if you are having troubles, you get anxious easily. So, it’s better to keep calm and think of positive thoughts.
Let Go & Let God
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Sometimes, it takes a leap of faith to get things going. Through faith and prayers, we can overcome our fears. Knowing that God will always guide and protect us, we should not be frightened.
Think of Opportunities Ahead
Fear also stops us from doing what we want to do. This may often result in wasted chance or worse, a good opportunity. It is better to think of opportunities that may come along the way than too regret in the end because of having fears.
